Brief Biography
Bodong Shang is an Assistant Professor (Ph.D. Supervisor) in the College of Information Science and Technology at Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT), Ningbo, China. He is also with the Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Industrial Intelligence and the Ningbo Institute of Digital Twin. He was a postdoctoral research associate at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, USA, his M.S. degree in the School of Telecommunications Engineering at Xidian University, Xi’an, China, and his B.Eng. degree in the School of Information Science and Technology at Northwest University, Xi’an, China. He received the Chinese government award for outstanding self-financed students abroad in 2021, ``6G Rising Star" Young Scholar in the Global 6G Conference 2024, and the outstanding paper of the 7th "Space Information Network" academic forum. He held a summer research internship position at Nokia Bell Labs, USA, in 2021. He was listed among the World's Top 2\% Scientists by Stanford University for 2023 and 2024. He serves as a youth editorial board member of the Journal of Information and Intelligence and a youth editorial board member of Telecommunications Science. He organized space-air-ground integrated networks-relevant workshops in the IEEE/CIC ICCC in 2024 and 2025, respectively. His current research areas are within space-air-ground-sea integrated networks, including satellite communications and networking, non-terrestrial networks, space information networks, and low-altitude intelligent networks.
